Emergency Exit Seats

Passengers can also select Emergency Exit Seats during the flight reservation. However, they must follow some guidelines set by the airline for emergency exit seats: 

• Travellers selecting these seats should be 18 years of age or older. However, they should be able to understand the instructions printed on the Cabin Safety Card. 
• Additionally, they must be able to follow the Cabin Crew’s directions in English during an emergency evacuation.
• The travellers should be physically fit and healthy without any medical condition, pregnancy, or impairment related to mobility, hearing, vision or mental health. 
• Passengers must be travelling without infant(s), children or service dogs.

Important Note: The emergency seats might  be reassigned before or during the journey without any refund if the airline determines that the passenger doesn’t meet any of the above requirements.

Who are not eligible for Qatar Seat Selection Refunds

Passengers get a refund of the seat selection amount if involuntary changes are made by the airline to the seat due to safety, security or operational reasons. However, there are some points under which the passengers are not eligible for the seat selection refunds which are given below: 

• When passengers are doing voluntary or involuntary upgrading to a higher Cabin Class.
• If the traveller is selecting a low-cost seat after reserving a higher-valued seat.
• Passengers are not eligible for a refund if they add Qatar Airways Privilege Club or Oneworld membership information to their flight booking after buying a seat.
• When a passenger makes voluntary flight changes to their itinerary including flight dates with different routing, or changing another flight operated by a different airline.
• Travellers are not eligible for a refund if they are provided new seats with the same features as the earlier purchased seats, after the involuntary change. 

Qatar Airways Seat Selection Fees

Passengers requesting seat selection might have to pay fees depending on their flight cabin class. Meanwhile, given below are some important points related to seat selection fees: 

• Economy comfort, Business comfort, Elite and First Elite fare class passengers can do seat selection without any additional charges.
• Travellers having privilege club membership (Platinum and Gold) and passengers accompanying them in the same booking reference can also select seats without paying any additional cost. However, this is also applicable to the members of equivalent Oneworld loyalty programmes.
• Meanwhile, the airline also allows all passengers travelling with infants to select seats at no additional cost.
